Participate in the Katie Kazoo Reading Challenge!
STEP 1:
Introduce your students to Katie Kazoo with fun lesson plans, literature circles, and activity sheets.
STEP 2:
Print out and give each student in your class one of the Reading Challenge bookmarks.
STEP 3:
In their reading circles or during free reading time, students should read any five
books in the Katie Kazoo, Switcheroo series by Nancy Krulik. Click here for a complete list!
STEP 4:
Show students how to keep track of their reading using the form on their bookmark,
and sign off on each book they read.
STEP 5:
Help students complete, detach and mail their form to:

Official Rules for the Katie Kazoo, Switcheroo Reading Challenge Sweepstakes
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT ENHANCE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
Open to students in grades 1-5 who are attending public or private elementary schools in the Continental United States and the District of Columbia.
How to Enter:

To enter the Katie Kazoo, Switcheroo Reading Challenge Sweepstakes
("Sweepstakes"), please read these Official Rules and fill out the Sweepstakes entry form attached
to the Katie Kazoo bookmark. In addition, entry forms may be printed out at
www.katiekazoo.com/readingchallenge. Read any five (5) books in the Katie Kazoo, Switcheroo
series; fill out the entry form listing the five books you have read; and have your teacher, parent/
guardian or other adult sign the form verifying that you have read those books. Fill out your first
and last name, age, mailing address, telephone number, school name, grade and teacher's name,
and submit it to your teacher or school librarian if they are collecting entries from students, or
mail the completed entry form yourself to Penguin Young Readers Marketing, 345 Hudson Street,
New York, NY 10014, Attention: Katie Kazoo, Switcheroo Reading Challenge Sweepstakes.
Entries must be postmarked on or by March 1, 2011 and received on or by March 8, 2011. No
mechanically reproduced or computer generated entries allowed. Limit one entry per person.

Entries are void if they are in whole or in part illegible, incomplete or damaged.
Sponsor assumes no responsibility for late, lost, damaged, incomplete, illegible, postage due or
misdirected entries.

Penguin Young Readers Group, a division of Penguin Group (USA) Inc. ("Sponsor")
and its parent, subsidiaries and affiliated companies are not responsible for technical malfunctions
of any kind which may limit the ability to play or participate, or by any human error which may
occur in the processing of the entries in this Sweepstakes. If for any reason the Sweepstakes is
not capable of being conducted as described in these rules, Sponsor shall have the right to cancel,
terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes.
Winners:

From all eligible entries received, one (1) Grand Prize winner, five (5) First Prize
winners and one hundred (100) Second Prize winners will be chosen in a random drawing held on
or about March 15, 2011 by Sponsor, whose decisions concerning all matters related to this
Sweepstakes are final and binding.

Winners will be notified by telephone and/or mail. The odds of winning depend on the
number of eligible entries received.

In the event that there is an insufficient number of eligible entries Sponsor reserves the

Eligibility:
This Sweepstakes is open to students in grades 1-5 who are attending public or private
schools in the Continental United States and the District of Columbia. Employees of Sponsor,
and its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, or other parties in any way involved in the
development, production or distribution of this Sweepstakes, as well as the immediate family
(spouse, parents, siblings, children) and household members of each such employee are not
eligible to participate in this Sweepstakes. Void where prohibited by law. All state and local
restrictions apply.
General:

No substitution, transfers or assignments of prizes allowed. In the event of unavailability, Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

All expenses, including taxes (if any), related to receipt and use of prizes are the sole
responsibility of the winners.

Winners may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release
("Affidavit") and if so, the Affidavit must be completed and returned within fourteen (14) days of
notification or winner will forfeit their prize and another winner will be selected. As selected
winners will be under eighteen (18) years of age, their parents or legal guardians will be required
to sign the Affidavit. Should the ARV of the prize equal or exceed $600.00, winners shall be
required to provide a Social Security Number or a Taxpayer Identification Number to Sponsor for
issuance of a 1099 Form. Grand Prize Winner's school shall also be required to provide a Federal
Tax Identification Number to Sponsor for issuance of a 1099 Form, in connection with its receipt
of the prize.

By accepting the prizes, winners grant to Sponsor the right to use their names,
likenesses,
hometowns and biographical information in advertising and promotion materials, including
posting on the Sponsor's website, without further compensation or permission, except where
prohibited by law.

By competing in this Sweepstakes and/or accepting a prize, entrants release Sponsor,
its parent, subsidiaries or affiliated companies or the advertising agencies of any of them and the
authors and/or editors of any books promoted hereby from any and all liability for any loss, harm,
injuries, damages, cost or expense arising out of or relating to participation in this Sweepstakes or
the acceptance, use or misuse of the prize.
- Any dispute arising from this Sweepstakes will be determined according to the laws of
the State of New York, without reference to its conflict of law principles, and the entrants consent
to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York County and agree
that such courts have exclusive jurisdiction over all such disputes.

For a copy of the winners list, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope by August 15,
